Objective:
This conference provides a forum for active researchers to discuss state-of-the-art
developments and results in theoretical and computational acoustics and related topics. The conference will bring together researchers from different areas of science related to acoustics to exchange new ideas and to stimulate future research in such fields as:
- Computational aero-, seismo-, and ocean-acoustics, hydroacoustics, bioengineering acoustics, nonlinear acoustics, structural acoustics, scattering and inverse problems;
- Multidimensional wave propagation modeling: grid methods (spectral, FD, FEM, FV, BIE, BEM, etc.), ray techniques, symbolic methods, ODE methods, supercomputing and parallel methods;
- Wave propagation in borehole, rocks, fluid-solid interfaces, anisotropic media, viscoelastic, porous and fractured media, as well as random media;
- Ultrasonic wave propagation and nondestructive testing;
- Application of neural networks to acoustics;
- Computational and experimental seismology;
- Shallow water acoustics and environmental/bottom parameter extraction;
- Global acoustics and large-scale monitoring;
- Acoustic tomography and full-field inversion;
- Real applications, experimental results, and data compression.
- Exploring earth structure from the interpretation and modeling of earthquake data.
- Application of Electromagnetics.
Sponsors:
This conference is sponsored by China Hangzhou Association for International Exchange of Personnel, the U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), US Office of Naval Research (ONR), Columbia University, Zhejiang University, Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale (OGS), Italy, the Hangzhou Applied Acoustics Research Institute, China, and Key Laboratory of Geophysical Exploration, CNPC, China, Hangzhou Municipal Government.
Abstract Deadline:
Interested authors are invited to submit abstracts (either via e-mail or by hard copy) to the Point-Of-Contact before the abstract deadline February 1, 2005.
Please specify your required equipment for your talk.
Publication:
A hard-bound Proceedings will be published in book format. All manuscripts will be refereed. With the cooperation of the author, accepted manuscripts will be submitted in camera-ready format. Each registered participant will receive a complimentary copy of the Proceedings.
